About the Event
The Church of the Ascension annual summer concert will feature a string quartet from Loon Lake Live at 5pm on Saturday, July 29. Loon Lake Live is a remarkable North Woods tradition spanning over two decades: providing engaging, free concerts in intimate spaces throughout the Adirondacks. Artistic director and violist, Catherine Beeson, has prepared an engaging set for this remarkable space.
The concert is planned to take place lakeside at the Church Rectory in front of the stunning view down the length of Upper Saranac Lake. The music will last one hour without intermission, and we will provide wine/beer and finger foods during the concert. In the event of adverse weather, we will move the concert indoors to the Church sanctuary a few hundred yards up the road from the Rectory.
The Church of the Ascnesion was built in 1884 and is listed on the National Historic Register. It is unique and beautiful setting and pilgrimage site for many who have come to know something of God in the Adirondack wilderness. Hosting Loon Lake Live and facilitating fellowship around music that glorifies God is a part of the church's ministry.
