Eternal Rest at the Church of the Ascension

The Church of the Ascension hosts a moss-laden Memorial Glade on the eastern side of the chapel.  A wooden cross made of birch-boughs stands at its center on a marble block.  This quiet sanctuary is available to receive the cremains of those persons associated with the church.  Many generations of pilgrims have been interred here at the end of their journey.  In this place, we remember that we are dust and to dust we shall return.
