Stained Glass Restoration
All eighteen stained-glass windows need individual attention and care to restore and preserve them. We have identified a variety of problems that compromise different windows in different ways. Necessary solutions vary and range from basic cleaning to full rebuilds depending on the window. We have brought in two separate stained glass window firms for expert advice and will proceed with an individualized and careful plan that is appropriate for each window.

Transformative Light
When the light strikes our windows the effect is magical. The windows accentuate the warmth of our century-old logs and invite us into sacred space. These windows are an essential element of what makes our sanctuary worthy of our worship and our most precious life moments.
A Great Idea, Poorly Designed
The acrylic panels on the outside of the windows protect them. Unfortunately, these panels were designed without vents. The resulting heat compromises the lead that holds the windows together. All of these protective panels need to be replaced with new, vented panels.
Lead Buckling and Structural Failure
Compromised lead "cames" result in signifcant buckling. Once led is softened and stretched to allow this kind of buckling, it cannot be tightened. Some windows will require full rebuilds.
Reframing and Fitting
Some windows frames have become disjointed over time. Tight openings have cause torqueing as the windows are opened and closed, stressing the glass. Some windows will need to be reframed and refitted.
It's Time for a Clean
Natural accumulation of dust and pollen over time dulls windows that are supposed to be vivid and colorful. Some of our windows will need to be professionally cleaned to restore their vibrancy.
